Understand Toilet Classifications in 3 Minutes! Choose the Right Style and Avoid Mistakes
Choose the toilet first look at the classification, different types of toilets to suit different household types and needs, understand these three categories of division, can help you quickly lock the right funds.
1.From the structural point of view, it is mainly divided into one-piece and Two-piece.
One-piece toilet: the water tank and the base are molded in one, the appearance is simple and smooth, easy to clean, and can also be adapted to modern, minimalist and other decorative styles, suitable for the pursuit of color value and convenient home, but the price is slightly higher.
Two-piece toilet: the water tank and the base are separated, the cost-effectiveness ratio is high, the impact is also strong, but the gap is easy to accumulate ash, more suitable for users with a limited budget and do not mind frequent cleaning.
2.According to the drainage direction, toilets can be categorized into floor-mounted drainage toilets and wall-mounted drainage toilets.
Floor-mounted drainage toilets are the most common type, with the drain outlet on the floor. Before purchasing, you need to measure the "rough-in distance" (the distance from the drain outlet to the wall); the common sizes are 300mm and 400mm, and choosing the wrong rough-in distance will make installation impossible.
Wall-mounted drainage toilets have the drain outlet on the wall, allowing for suspended installation of the toilet. This saves floor space and gives a lightweight look, making them especially suitable for small apartments or families wanting to create a neat bathroom. However, it is necessary to reserve wall pipes in advance during installation.
3.In terms of flushing method, the most mainstream types are direct flush and siphonic flush.
Direct flush toilets use the impact force of water flow for drainage, with thick pipes that are less likely to be clogged and a low price. However, they produce loud flushing noise and have average odor prevention effects, making them more suitable for rental houses or public areas.
Siphonic flush toilets rely on negative pressure suction for drainage, with quiet flushing and a large water seal area that effectively blocks odors from the sewer. They are further divided into jet siphonic (stronger flushing power) and vortex siphonic (more even flushing) types, which are the first choice for home use, especially for bathrooms near bedrooms.
By clearly understanding these three classifications and combining them with your home's layout, budget, and usage scenarios, you can accurately avoid the mistake of "choosing the wrong style" when selecting a toilet.
